Katherine Schlieper, O.D.
Practice and Education
Dr. Schlieper grew up in Topsham, Maine. She earned a degree in Biology from the University of Maine at Farmington Cum Laude. Subsequently, she spent several years supporting research efforts, and had roles in laboratory management and safety compliance at MIT in Cambridge, MA before attending the New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA.
After earning her Doctorate in Optometry, Dr. Schlieper completed a post-graduate residency from Indiana University School of Optometry sponsored by the University of Virginia in Ocular Disease with an Emphasis in Cornea and Specialty Contact lenses. She has also completed a fellowship from the American Academy of Optometry in October, 2019.
Dr. Schlieper enjoys seeing patients of all ages but has a particular interest in ocular disease including Keratoconus, dry eyes, Pellucid Marginal Degeneration, and other corneal conditions. She also has experience fitting scleral and specialty contact lenses.
Dr. Schlieper enjoys outdoor activities including hiking and swimming and all things creative; painting, writing, sewing, drawing—and has even illustrated a children’s book.
Dr. Schlieper has office hours at the Midlothian and Innsbrook offices.
